Outdoor Movie Night

Summer movies are a big thing. They could be scary  , romantic or exciting .Unfortunately the era of the drive in is well over with  and with it goes all those fun foods , from ice cream sodas or hamburgers. yet movies can still be projected in our backyards  .with it we can still  have fun foods to enjoy our favorite stars under the stars.

Yes popcorn is a must for any movie indoors and out. The buttered sort is always good except it does become greasy when it's cold.a better idea is popping the kernels in a light olive oil and then seasoning with rosemary and sea salt.it still has a lush flavor but there's no worry of slippery and slimy corn. if you di want a flavored corn then think about cheddar cheese powder to sprinkle on.caramel corn is another fun movie night treat. You can make the caramel by hand, using butter, brown sugar , cream of tartar and baking soda. Light corn syrup is added to give the caramel that silky texture. an easier route is melting Kraft caramels with two to three tablespoons of butter and water. The popcorn is then mixed in to this until every puff is completely coated.Nachos are another much loved movie snack. You can just serve them with hot queso poured on or create a platter of loaded nachos. These are loaded  with ground beef or turkey  and topped with not just queso but also salsa, sour cream and guacamole. sliced olives and jalapenos top it off. It;s usually cut in squares and put on plates.

Of course you could have more sophisticated fare. Charcuterie is an easy and fun way to serve people. There also is a wide variety for guests to choose from. Salami works well along with prosciutto on hot nights. Any other meats may go bad. Don;think of serving a sea-cuterie, full of seafood that could go bad quick. stick to the cold cuts a long with different cheeses like Brie, GOuda and Cheddar along with different crackers. Have rows of wheat Thins and Ritz crackers as well as saltines. Also olive go well here as do Italian and French bread loaves. The last make for easy sandwiches with the cold cuts and cheeses. Have cruets of olive oil and vinegar out too. Grilled food is always welcome. Think hamburgers and hot dogs under the stars. set up a fixings bars for both. Have it loaded with squeezy bottles of ketchup and mustard along with small bowls of pickles and relish. A few squeezy bottles of different barbecue and hot sauces can add some zing. Barbecued chicken wings are also a fun movie night munch, have them plain or with a lemon garlic marinade.Iced cold drinks are needed to wash all of this down. Lemonade and different sodas are a good choice. Mocktails are a fun addition too.

It's outdoor movie season. every film deserves fun snacks. It's the best way to enjoy your favorites in a hot summer night.

Rediscovering Tater Tots

Few American foods are as beloved as Tater Tots. This Ore Ida brand is beloved and served all over , from  cheesy dishes at fast food chains to a staple at college cafeterias. They're a fun , crunchy bite that's easy to make.

I 've been craving these for a while and thought they 'd go well with Gardein's Vegan fish filets.
What I like about them is that they're more bite sized than fries and fry up nicely in the air fryer. The extra crispy only take a total of ten minutes in the air fried, cooked at 400 degrees Farenheir,
They were a bit tinier than what I remembered.(is Ore Ida shrinking them?)but they were still crunchy and good. They were perfect with ketchup but I could have dipped them in barbecue sauce too. Tater tots are also great appetizers and I may make them for my next barbecue. You can turn them into nachos too, with  layer s of cheese and jalapenos. These can make for good party dishes however there's nothing like eating the little bites on their own Each bite bursts with a rich potato flavor and  it seems like blasphemy to cover up that taste.

Rediscover Tater Tots if  you haven't already. They're a great side dish but try them as an appetizer or an hors'douevre. What perfect little gems!!

A Century Of Good Food

It's rare a restaurant hits the 100 year mark, yet Los Amgeles' El Cholo has managed to do just that. This beloved staple  has been feeding celebrities college stidents and families. What's their secret? Good food and good drink.

Deputy business editor Kevin McKenna takes a break from finance writing and wrote this informative piece  along with giving recipes for today's New York Times Food section. El Cholo is one of those unique  eateries that you would see more in Europe where families own restaurants through the centuries. It started in 1923 when Alejando and Rosa Borquez opened up the Sonora Cafe  named after their home state in Mexico. It was renamed EL Cholo a couple of years later  in 1925.and located near the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Their daughter Aurelia took over with her husband George Salisbury , a regular she met while waitressing there. The current owner ,their son Ron was born in 1935. His earliest memories are of helping his mother count change  at their cash register . He also managed the place for his father when he was eighteen and also going to college. His youngest of seven Bennett, will be running the restaurant now. during its' one hundred years it attracted the burgeoning Hollywood community. regular customers were Clark Gable, Loretta Young and Nat King Cole. Jack Nicholson was also a regular and brought his girlfriend Michelle Philips to el Cholo. Her voice provides the outgoing message for the restaurant. Tom Seaver was a big fan and part time owner  during his college days. he later brought Nolan Ryan there.

Have the recipes changed over the years? Yes. Mexican food was not really big with the Anglo community and the dishes were often bland witohut any of the usial spices. Over the decades American tastes changed and people were becoming more adventurous. Chimichangas were added in 1967 and crab meat enchiladas in 1971. It was the addition of nachos that  brought in more customers for  El Cholo. This was thanks to waitress Carmen Rocha who brought them in by stealth . Her knowledge of the dish followed her from Texas. she started to prepare them for diners who loved them. Yet it was the introduction of the margarita in 1960s'. The first ones were not that great according to Ron Salisbury  A fellow restaurant owner gave hima few tios, namely blending a variety of tequilas for the drink. Mr. McKenna offer ElCholo's signature dish Sonora style enchiladas. He also includes the green and red sauce recipes too. The filling is shredded cooked chicken sauteed with Mexican oregano, garlic polamo chilis and a tomato. Each are different. The red has guajillo and California chilis cooked with chili di arbol and a onion The green is made   from chicken stock , green bell peppers, spinach onion and poblano chiles. Both are used in assembling the enchiladas and then they 're stacked and served with a fried egg on top. cheese and black olives are sprinkled on top.

el Cholo represents a family's  century devotion and hard work. it has severed generations of Angelenos amdintroduced Mexican food to Hollywood. It is the king of restaurants.

Snacks For Dinner

Sometimes a regular meal can be boring. It's the same old meat loaf or roast chicken. How can you liven up dinner or even a weekend lunch? Serve snacks.it's a fun way to add zing to the table.

I't;s not so much as giving the family a bowl of pretzels or chips to nosh on. It's taking those appetizers and bites you see at restaurants and recreating your version of them.Pne of the most popular are loaded nachos. There are so many different variations of this, from the hearty brickyer's version that's rife with bacon and chorizo and lighter versions, that have sliced veggies scattered over them. The best version is one that your family likes. If they are bing on beans then go heavy on them. If they like a meat lover's version add more ground beef or shredded chicken. If they're vegan, then go with soy crumbles and non diary cheeses like Miyoko's . Sauces can be added before cooking or they can be added afterwards.  You can also make your own tortilla chips by frying or baking them. The crisp chips can be made into a Mexican pizza, now being served at Taco Bell. This is a fun sandwich of crispy tortillas with a layer of refried beans, meat and tomatoes. Again you can make these to suit your familes tastes as well.

Pretzels are the ultimate snack. Now imagine them as the ultimate snack dinner.Buy the big Bavarian ones (your freezer section has them). After they've been baked , slice and serve with warmed cheese and sliced bratwurst. You can also turn it into a fun Baviarian influenced grilled cheese by adding sauerkraut and sliced Black Forest ham. Another fun and cheesy dish , epsecially for a weekend is fondue.  The classic Swiss recipe has Emmenthaler  and Gruyere cheeses grated and cooked in a fondue pot with garlic, kirsch, cornstarch and dry white wine. Boiled potatoes can be dipped into it but the real stars are the crusty chunks of French bread. It may look like a sophisticated snack but the kids will get a kick out of it too.The fondue pot can also be used for that Piedmontese treat bagna cauda. This requires the fondue pot but it's cooking anchovies in a sauce of garlic, butter and olive oil. Stir unti there's a smooth looking sauce. Savoy cabbage pieces are usually dipped into it but you cna also partially broiled London Broil and finsh up with chunks of Italian bread.

Forget the ordinary. Serve snacks tonight for dinner. Enjoy them and the fun they bring.

Recipes For The Campfire

One of the best vacation experiences is camping. There's something about being out in the fresh air, enjoying all the aspects of nature. Another plus is food cooked out on the fire. There are some great recipes that are satisfying and tasty, perfect for the great outdoors.

Before you go make sure you have the necessary utensils and cooking apparatus. Pots and pans are a must as are spatulas and stirring spoons. A small chopping board is another must bring and a good chopping knife. You could bring a paring knife too. Also pack a colander for rinsing and pot holders  for lifting red hot pots and pans. Bring matches too. Sometimes rubbing two sticks together doesn;t always bring about a fire. A cooler to store drinks and perishables like eggs and bacon is also necessary. as for food yourself, look into the local farms. They not only will have fresh fruit and veggies but also honey, eggs, and a wide variety of baked and pickled goods. some may even have dairy like fresh milk, butter and cream. A plus is writing down eveyone's requests. You know s'mores are going to be on the list as hamburgers. Chopped meat is a must. You can not only make easy to cook  hamburgers but also loaded nachos. This is a great dish cooked in a Dutch oven. This also has easy to carry black beans and cheese. It's hearty and tasty, perfect after a day of kayaking or hiking.Mexican street corn and tacos are easy makes too and fun for a lunch.

Grilled foods are a must on a camping trip. Try chicken layered with cherry tomatoes and chunks of  bell peppers and onions. Marinate in a mix of olive oil and lemon  juice and serve with Greek tzatziki sauce. Foil packets are excellent for campfire cooking. Cleaning is minimal because these are made in aluminum foil packets. (and please bring that and Saran wrap too for storing). You can create one with shrimp and andouille sasuage for a Cajun twist. Try one with chicken ,black beans and chili powder for a tasty spicy dinner.Surprisingly you can also make a tasty pot of pasta on your camping holiday, Baked mac is the perfect dish on a cool night. It has steamed pasta with cheese poured over it. The cheese mixes with the water to form a sauce. You can also make a yummy pasta primavera too. It's first chopping up veggies such as tomatoes , squash and zucchini and lightly sauteing them. They're taken out and then the pasta is cooked with water. the two are combined once the pasta is all cooked. Add a creamy cheese like a goat one  to creat the Alfredo sauce.Desserts can also be made. Bananas boats are an easy make.Split the fruit in half and fill with eveyrhing form chocolate to fruit to caramel. Top wiht nuts for crunch. You can also make an easy peach cobbler too using a Dutch oven.

Cooking on the campfire is a fun, tasty adventure. You can make anything, from savory to sweet. The food is fresh and good, perfect for those al fresco meals.

Take Out In The Wilderness

Everyone craves a good take out. Yet what happens when you're far away from any restaurant and delivery. You have a plane come in and deliver it. Delicious, albeit cold food of all sorts are delivered to remote villages.

Regular contributor and Alaska journalist Victoria Peterson wrote about this , specifically in the Alaskan bush in yesterday;'s New York Times Food section. Many villages such as Fort Yukon, located  way in the upper northeast corner of the state are far from any fast food jiont. The villages have no pizzerias or Chinese restaurants. Families have to order through Door Dash to get any kind of"fun: food. Natalia Navarro had to wait until pilot Robert Golike deliver their order. He uses his Cessna to take food to them and other isolated families craving a taste of the city.,Ms Navarro's order consisted of steak tacos and churros from Pedro's Mexican grill in Anchorage and classics such as lo mein, beef broccoli and General Tso's chicken from Famous Wok, a Chinese food chain. Her family relished  every bite. The trip is to their house is a long one. It's a long air journey over the silty waters of Cook Inlet and over the craggy snow covered peaks of the Alaska range.and the many laked terrain In Nikolai where he would land.MS Navarro only orders twice a month because of the expense.

The idea has caught on.Alaska Air Transit is one of the dozens of small regional airlines flying people and cargo to hundreds of remote communities across Alaska. There are Netflix DVDS along with the needed outdoor gear and groceries.Yet it's receiving something like pizza that's the most exciting. Most order from Pizza Hut whose food keep the best on the journey. For some families it was that along with CHinese that was only delivered. Now the spectrum has widened thanks to DoorDash. Families can get any kind of cuisine they're craving or want to try for the first time. To deal with the influx of orders coming to their office, Alaska Air Transit owner, Josie Owen has set up a giant tent in the parking lot where drivers can  label the order with the person's name and  village before leaving it before the staff. The need is growing. Twins Caiti and Shari O'Connor have started their own business , expediting orders during their school year in Anchorage. They pick up pets at the airport to take them to the vet,  along with storing vehicles. Their most lucrative order is food. They dropped off three hundred dollars of food from Panda Express  for an employee appreciation on St Paul Island.

Anyone anywhere nowadays can appreciate a pizza or lo mein. They can enjoy tacos or a good burger thanks to pilots who fly to where they are. it's a new form of food delivery but a much needed one.

Eat Like A President

Everyone wonders what it's like to live in the White House , no matter what the era. You can experience one aspect of it on this President's Day - the dining.  White House recipes have been varied but attainable. Anyone now can eat like the Commander-In-Chief.

One of the most popular (and it was Abe Lincoln's favorite) was cornbread. Rutherford B Hayes, the nineteenth president also served it at the White House and it's easy to see why. Who doesn't love a square of the freshly made bread, drizzled with honey the way Lincoln loved it or warm from the oven slathered with salted butter. Cornbread is a great bake , either as a snack or with dinner. Yet it also is a great bed for chili - a popular favorite with both George W Bush and family and Lyndon and Lady Bird Johnson. Bake up a batch and then cut into squares. Ladle chili on top for a hearty winter dish. If you want something hardier, then look no further than William Howard  Taft and Teddy Roosevelt. Both men loved a good steak and potatoes dinner. This can be easily replicated with a good filet mignon and a baked potato. This would have suited them but you do need a little green in there to balance the meal's heaviness. Add a simple green salad with a few grape tomatoes , carrots and broccoli florets tossed in, Another spin on the presidential favorites is a grilled flank steak with French fries . You could add a simple au jus sauce to dip the fries into.

Some of our leaders loved chicken instead of red meat. Woodrow Wilson loved his wife , Lou's, chicken salad. This dish is a great way to use up leftover rotisserie chicken. It's cubing the meat and combining it with mayo and chopped celery, Some add grapes for sweetness and color , other's add a dash of paprika for kick. A tastier add in would be green olives. It's good on white toast but also great on sliced French bread.Warren G. Harding was true to his Midwestern roots and loved chicken pot pie. Many home chefs shy away from it because they feel it's too complicated a recipe. You can easily simplify it by using frozen veggies, and canned cut chicken. The crust  can be Pilsbury pie crust or biscuits arranged om top. More recent presidents like Obama loved nachos. These are always a fun make. You can make them with just melted cheddar and salsa on top or try something more elaborate with guacamole, sour cream and chopped meat.  Our presidents weren't exactly ones for dessert yet some, like Calvin Coolidge loved a good apple pie. This is a great bake, and a refreshing break from all that bread and cake.  You can vary the recipe by adding walnuts or caramel. Dwight EIsenhower loved his wife's fudge and this is definitely a fun make. Add walnuts and marshmallows the way Mamie Eisenhower did.

You can eat like a president. Make a recipe that was a White House favorite. It 'll be one of yours too.

Q'Doba Grill Possibly The Best Mexican Food

Mexican food out can be a dicey affair . It could be too bland - or worse too spicy and hot. Then there's the cookie cutter factor, creating the same dishes for every customer..Luckily there is the refreshing Qdoba Grill that offers freshness and variety.

This is my favorite Mexican fast food - although should it be called such? There's nothing even remotely "fast" about it. There are fresh cut  vegetables and grilled meats. Even the tortilla chips are crisp and crunchy, not soggy with oil.Qdoba's Grill's tastes and cooking style is similar to home chefs' cooking the cuisine. Why is it not like its' closest competitor, Taco Bell? Maybe because it''s not  part of an international fast food corporation. The restaurant chain was started in the mid 1990s by Anthony Hauser  and Robert Miller in Denver ,Colorado. Another competietor, Chipotle was also created there two years earlier. It was called Zuma Fresh Mexican Grill and made a million and a half in revenues alone during the first year.Four years later the name was changed to Qdoba . The chain is known for their San Francisco or Mission style where the burritos are overstuffed with rice and double the amount of meat and veggies. It's also known for other freshly made customized dishes , unlike Taco Bell and reasonable prices - unlike Chipotle with its' expensive tacos , burritos and even guacamole.

Again , the reason I love it  there  is a homey freshness to it. I love having the tacos made my way, without beans and corn, just loaded with their spiced chicken and chopped tomatoes. The servers add just the right dollop of guacamole to top it off. Another reason to like Qdoba is that every dish can customized to suit both meat lovers and vegans. The menu is not varied. There are only six choices such as the classic taco, burrito and nachos along with  the burrito bowl, tortilla  soup, and taco salad. Of course, they have guac and chips, a creamy mashed avocado lightly spiced with what tastes like tabasco sauce. The queso or cheese sauce is laced with beer as is the featured drunken chicken this month. I enjoy their regular grilled chicken, again lightly spiced and not overpowering. The burrito bowls are also tasty, Bean lovers can go crazy with it, having both pinto and black beans and nothing else. There's also corn and peppers to add to everything too. Another plus? The soda machine that has a huge variety of different sodas. It' where I get my Dr. Pepper cherry vanilla fix and I can get as many refills as I want.Qdoba also sells wrapped chocolate chip cookies to battle any leftover fire and spiciness.

Qqdoba Grill offers the best and most reasonably priced Mexican fare out there. It's no wonder so my, like myself, can;t get enough of their delicious tacos and yummy guac. It's the best south of the border style food.

Your Spring Snack Guide

Spring brings a lot of changes.we dress lighter, We should eat lighter and we should snack lighter as well. Those whipped cream topped hot cocoas and cupcakes may have been great as we were bulking up for the cold however they may be heavy and calorie rich  during these warm days and nights. It's time to change to less dense treats.

One of the best snacks, both in cold and warm weather is popcorn . It's a better alternative to potato chips and dip .it's full of fiber and taste, perfect for filling up during games or a day at the beach.Another plus is that's it's easy to tote around - and if you have any left over is perfect for feeding the birds.a great Saturday night snack is nachos. The winter saw them piping hot with cheese and maybe chili on them. Go light  with a homemade salsa of chopped tomatoes, jalapenos and onions. You can even use this for crackers or a fiery spin on bruschetta.English muffin pizzas were also a great Sunday night supper or snack. Sub the canned sauce for fresh chopped tomatoes and replaced the heavy mozzarella with a hearty sprinkle of Parmesan. another healthy filler is cottage cheese blended with chopped veggies. Add some broccoli florets along with cut up snow pea pods  along with a few grape tomatoes and diced onion. Add a good dahs of fresh cracked pepper and a tiny dash of sea salt for more flavoring. You can also cut up soy hot dogs and wrap crescent dough around them for a low cal version of pigs in blankets.

This is the season of first harvests. That means fresh batches of peaches , strawberries and blueberries. Eat these when you're craving something sweet. They're full of fiber and vitamins, perfect after a winter of cookies and snack cakes. Fruit can be grilled too and it can be easily turned into shish kabobs. Brush the skewered pieces with honey before you put them over the fire. The fruit of the season can also be mixed into Greek yogurt for a nice pick me up at the office. As the temps shoot up you may be tempted by ice cream or even those whipped cream topped iced coffees. They may be cooling and a treat however they are fat bombs just waiting to go off. stick with ices or low calorie ice cream treat. You can even semi freeze bananas and strawberries and then have them with  chocolate syrup and low fat whipped toppings. As for the coffee- stick to iced black for a refreshing change. You'll taste the full rich flavor of the beans that way along with being enervated. You can also q8unech your thirst with BAI all natural juices and soda They're fresh and fruity, having only five calories each.

It's spring and that means lighter fare for snacking. enjoy ,kw calories sweets and treats as the temps  rise. You'll not only feel satisfied but also rewarded with good for you snacks.

Super Bowl Super Foods

This Sunday will be a paean to football and all kinds of snack foods.Unfortunately Americans turn to outside sources as opposed to making their own quick bites. That shouldn't be.You can create a tasty snack filled homemade platter for SuperBowl Sunday. Sam Sifton, one of the New York Times' great food writers , asked this question in yesterday's New York Times Dining section. He came up with a tasty and much better solution than a list of take out phone numbers. He has updated three classic Sunday football dishes, fried chicken ,nachos and clam dip. These are the perfect dishes to serve not just for a football themed day but for parties as well. His fried chicken is heavenly. This is a Coke brined chicken where it's marinated in a mix of The soda ,thyme and hot sauce infuse the meat with a sweet and fiery flavor. The crust is a mix of flour ,cayenne pepper along with onion and garlic powder. It's fried quickly in a mix of peanut oil and lard. If that's not enough Mr Sifton gives us an old classic clam dip and a new one ,nachos.Clam dip was almost a requirement for every party thrown during the 1950's.Thanks to the season being one for fresh clams ,you can make a very fresh dip using the freshly caught seafood along with sour cream.Again cayenne pepper and Worcester sauce give the dip zing.Serve with potato chips for a classic treat or fresh veggies for a healthier twist.Nachos ,another game day must, are made with a shredded pork shoulder moistened with lime juice instead of the usua Ground beef. This is layered over tortilla chips along with more lime infused sour cream.Crunchy radishes not only decorate it but give it a nice pop of sharpness. Cilantro is then sprinkled on for more flavor as is another layer of meat ,sour cream and cheese. Game day dishes don't have to be take out fumbles. They can be hot, fresh and inspired. It's a great way to celebrate a modern American tradition.

Hackensack's Heritage Diner

Hackensack, New Jersey has always had a lot of heritage and that inludes it's diner also called The Herirtage. this is Bergen County's oldest diner yet thanks to new ownership ,it's as fresh as waver. The diner is literally surrounded by history. It is near the Bergen County Courthouse near the church where the British raided during the American Revolution. The spot itself was where the first Hackensack Bus station was and has been there since the mid 1950's.The food ,despite the long list of owners has always been good.It was always featuring the salad bar alone with the kid's menu.It was known for it's burgers and fries, along with it's platter sized onion rings.(note order these if you're with three other people because of their mega size). They are also have good grilled cheese ,with the bread being grilled and buttery on both sides. of course the diner is known for the American classic , the giant cookie and they have several different kinds from oatmeal to sugar along with chocolate chip The Heritage has sophisticated meal as well.It has one of the truest to recipe French onion so.completevwith a crunchy slice of French bread and covered in cheese. It's also served in a good sized crock where as some eateries serve it in a bowl. The Heritage features a vast variety of cuisines as well.Thie dim sum is better than any Chhinese restaurant in the local area and it serves excellent nachos and cheese. It also has good Yankeee food like steak , bean soup and melt lof.You can have your lunch oe dinner with a drink but many just stick with soda or the Heritage's excellent fresh brewed tea.

The New Wave Of Sports Bars

Sports bars bring to mind smoky atmospheres with loud TVs and louder fans. The food isn't particularly great, just filling and at times super spicy. However all that's changing. Gourmet and haute cuisine are coming to these now up scale hangouts. It's not only fun to go out and cheer your favorite team it's becoming chic.

This was explored in today's New York Time's Dining section, with a great article written by Glenn Collins. He visited several more upscale bars and tasted their fare. It turns out that it wasn't just your average plate of soggy nachos and oily wings. There was butternut squash bisque and roasted Brussels sprouts, two dishes normally not associated with this type of restaurant. There is also a meatloaf that has minced shrimp in it to give it more oomph. Some even offer brunches worthy of Village bistros

There are the traditional nachos and wings. After all that;'s what sports fan cry for. Yet these are a bit better, with more thought put into them. The nachos, are crisper and cheesier, made more like a layer gratin than just a pile of corn chips with cheese gooped on them. The chicken wings have ginger honey and Old Bay seasonings. Even the burgers and tacos are a veer off from the eh ordinary with the burgers being infused with anchovy and paprika and the tacos having tuna frown in from Hawaii.

Sports bars are not the hangouts they once were. You can now get gourmet food while watching your favorite team win or lose. It's not just about the game anymore. It's about the food.

Welcome Back Taco Bell

In the last few years Taco bell has received a bad wrap. There was news of first rats wrecking havoc in its' Greenwich Village locale . A few weeks later it made the news again when just a few miles westward, its' Plainfield, NJ location was mixing contaminated scallions into the burritos and tacos.Every foodie, including myself, was afraid to step into their local Bell. It was eat at your own risk.

That's all changed. I recently rediscovered my local one and found it just as good as when I left it. To be honest I really did miss the chicken and steak burritos. The nachos and cheese are the same (much to my delight and my cat'S who's a big cheese lover too. She likes the leftover cheese from the small cup that goes with the chips). Taco Bell has added a fresca or fresh menu where everything is lower in calories. The food is healthy and also cheap. A full lunch for three people yesterday only cost me seven bucks. Not bad when you consider Green Leaf's or even Wendy's would cost double that.

I also like the way Taco Bell branches out. They add an icy treat called Fruitista in pina colada and strawberry mango flavors. I've tried both and love them more than Rita's ices (sorry Rita's). They're like frozen Slushies with a fresh fruit taste and just refreshing after a hot day. They're also good with a meal. Another good idea is that the Bell is relying more on grilling which imparts a better taste to the chicken and steak.

Drop your fears about Taco Bell. Go back to this worthy fast food giant and rediscover their great food. You'll be happy to chow down on old favorites. You'll also be happy to try their new foods and drinks. Most of all you'll just be happy to be back.
