Two big events are happening this weekend. Restaurants are opening and it's Father's Day. Now here's the question. Should you celebrate at Dad's favorite restaurant or have something at home? Can the family head out or is better to have a backyard bash?
There should be reservations already in place if you are planning on taking the man of the day out. There are some eateries who will take last minute reservations along with a handful who don't even need reservations. Eating out again is a big deal - and fun. After all it's a chance to dress up , comb the hair and put on sandals other than flipflops. Then there's sitting down and actually ordering a meal. Being waited on is another nice perk along with being served food that you haven't cooked yourself or comes in a container in a paper bag. There's also the thrill of ordering anything you like, from steak to shrimp as opposed to being stuck with what's being cooked in the air fryer or crockpot. Another plus of eating out? Desserts!!! Dad can choose anything from a whipped cream embellished slice of chocolate cake or a fancy mint leaf crowned sorbet in a fancy glass. Instead of a Keurig cup, he and you can have cappuccino or espresso. It's just a nice time out even though you may be dining out in the parking lot.
However it can be more comforting to celebrate Dad in the backyard. It's safer that's for sure if only a close few are invited - or just those living in the house. You can still have the fancy restaurant food , either with take out or making it yourself. An easy but lush lunch or dinner is grilled steak with a coin of herbed butter on it. Herbed butter is a easy make. It's taking plain butter (dairy or plant based) mixed with lemon juice, finely chopped parsley and a variety of other herbs such as oregano, basil, or rosemary. The butter can also be used on toasted Italian or French bread too. Another fun dad dish is a beer burger. This is combining a quarter cup of his favorite beer with chopped beef, Worcester sauce , garlic and onion. Serve with sliced tomatoes and lettuce along with a slice of Swiss cheese. Instead of the usual , gloppy macaroni salads, try grilled veggies as a side. Grill corn and asparagus along with eggplant. You can also use the herbed butter on these or on that other fatherly favorite grilled baked potatoes. End the meal with chocolate stout cupcakes with buttercream icing or double chocolate s'more's using chocolate graham crackers and eighty to ninety percent dark chocolate instead of plain graham crackers and milk chocolate bar.
Father's Day is a time of celebrating. That's the important aspect, whether you dine in or out. Make sure the fathers in your life have a good meal and a good time.

For The King
Father's Day is tomorrow and with it comes the usual barbecue and bottle of whiskey to say thanks. Yet, it's also a day to pamper the sire with tasty and luxurious dishes , from morning to night . Indulge your father with some delicious fresh from the kitchen and grill dishes. It's a better way of showing your gratitude.
A good day starts with a good breakfast. One good choice - omelets filled with dad's favorite ingredients. If he wants a bacon one then honor his wishes. Add a dash of healthiness and color with diced tomatoes and green peppers. Make a large three egg one or fry up mini ones that can fit perfectly between a sliced English muffin. Another spin would be a cheese one but instead of the usual cheddar try one filled with Gouda or Edam. Mix it with baby spinach leaves for a richer, more flavorful egg dish. A different yet lush spin is a breakfast souffle. This is a surprisingly easy bake. All you need is a can of the Pillsbury crescent rolls and turning them into cups. Eggs, and whipping cream are whisked together to form a sort of savory custard. Cut up a green pepper and saute in butter . Add the egg mixture to this and cook til half way done. Working quickly add the eggs to the cups , then top with bacon and cheese. Bake about fifteen to seventeen minutes. You can serve with a fresh fruit cup and a Bloody Mary or blood orange screwdriver.
Carrying this luxury vibe into lunch and dinner. If the man of the house is a steak eater, then grill a few T-bones or even more deluxe, a filet mignon. Amp it up by serving it with a rich and flavorful bagna calda sauce. This Piedmontese favorite is usually a dip for various vegetables yet it is the perfect sauce for steaks, It starts with anchovies, oil and garlic being cooked in a small saucepan. Mash the fillets down with the back of a metal spoon. This ensures that they will melt into a smooth, satiny sauce. Add four tablespoons of unsalted butter and cook for about five minutes. Pour over the steak. A variation is placing the steaks on toasted and buttered white bread. Lobster is another plush idea. Try barbecued lobster tails,These only take twenty minutes on the grill and can be served with just a slice of lemon or with a sprinkling of pepper flakes for a spicy turn. Bring in scallops and crab for a total seafood feast. What to end it with? Try a dessert of chocolate stout ice cream which is an easy cook and freeze. It's heating whole cream and adding dark chocolate chips and sugar . When the chocolate and sugar are all melted , then add a pint of Guinness,. Put through an ice cream maker and freeze until ready to serve. Add hot fudge sauce and whipped cream along with crumbled bacon for a read "dad" dessert.
Fathers treat their families all the time. Treat them with a day full of delicious foods and drinks. They 're worth it.

Serving Your King ::Father's Day Meals
Funny how dads are not treated as greatly on Father's Day as mothers are on Mother's Day. There's no fancy breakfasts in bed or elegant lunches out. However it's time to treat the king of the castle with respect and good food.
Yes, it's OK to make breakfast in bed - or out on the deck - for the man of the day. Pancakes are always a good start but jazz them up with beer. Sub in the cup of milk with beer for a different kind of breakfast. Serve with eggs and caramelized bacon. This last is easy to make. Dip bacon strips in an equal mix of brown sugar and cinnamon and then arrange on a baking sheet. Bake eight minutes , and turn once.If hes' not a griddle cake fan, then think waffles, in particular bourbon waffles. This are grown up Eggos, thanks to quarter cup of the liquor added to the batter. Serve with pecans and warmed maple syrup. Another fun idea dad may like is a breakfast hero. Toast a hero roll in the oven or on the grill, and fill with a layer of cheesy scrambled eggs or his favorite omelet. Layer on sausage patties, Taylor ham and Canadian bacon. Throw in some tomato slices and guacamole if he's into them.Do dads do brunch? Of course - just tailor it to their tastes. Yes, real men do each quiche but turn it Paleo by adding beef cubes or steak tips and some cheddar. For some fire, toss in a few tablespoons of chopped jalapenos. What about the drink? Save the mimosas for the moms and splash some vodka into the orange juice for an eye opening screwdriver.
What about lunch?Since the day is going to be a beautiful one think picnic, whether at the beach, park or mountains. Health conscious dads may want a whole wheat sandwich, stuffed with vegan cold cuts. Tofurkey has an excellent array of them from soy baloney to soy ham,They also have soy cheese that tastes like the real thing. It would be a good time to try out the aquafaba based mayo. This is a simple mix of the liquid from a can of chickpeas, blended with vegetable oil and apple cider vinegar along with dry mustard and lemon juice. It can also be used to make a healthy coleslaw too, along with good for you whole wheat macaroni salads. If dad is a meat eater, then think of turkey or London broil sandwiches, with fresh sliced tomatoes and onions. Instead of chips, sub in olives from the salty Greek kalamatas to the mellow black ones. What about the king's dinner? How about a meal that combines the big guy's two favorite things, the grill and chili, Grilled chili involves grilling beef cubes and green peppers over a fire and then adding them later to the rest of the recipe. The recipe can be made with chicken too.Homemade pizza is also a great way of celebrating any dad. especially when it's homemade and loaded with his favorite toppings. End the day with chocolate stout cupcakes and a cigar!.
Treat the dads out there with respect and fun dishes. Make their special day just that special, with good meals and fun treats. They're the best gifts of all.

Dad's Day Homemade Treats
It's usuall mom who gets the home cooked and baked meals and treats for Mother's Day . Dad usually gets the burger or the dog from off the grill. However he probably yearns for a something fresh from the oven or something more substantial than just a barbecue quick cook. Give him something fun and different - gifts that are both thoughtful and tasty.
Father's Day is all about the barbecue. Surprise Dad with fun kabobs such as spiced lamb ,interspersed with cherry tomatoes and onions or a shrimp combined with red and green peppers.Instead of chopped meat , splurge and get him filet mignon .It is amazing on the grill just lightly seasoned. and served with a simple salad. If the sire still wants dogs then think the tastier bratwurst .It's flavor is perfection when it's grilled and it can be served plain or with cheese. Another great homemade gift is chili. This can be made either very mild or very hot , with beef for the real deal or turkey for a healthier , lower calorie treat. Soy crumbles can be subbed in for an even more healthier spin along with more beans and tomatoes. A real Father's Day treat is lobster and nothing beats a steamed one complete with butter and lemon.A fun idea is getting fresh lobster and steaming it , whether on the stove or on the grill . Make sure that there is plenty of butter and Wet Wipes for dad too. He may also want comfort food too. Think about an old fashioned Sunday dinner complete with meat loaf, gravy and mashed potatoes or spaghetti and garlic bread.
These meals have to have a sweet ending. Nothing beats a homemade chocolate cake. Make it more interesting by adding stout which pairs well with the flavor. Guinness works the best for this because of its' richness and complexity. Frost with a buttery rich homemade chocolate fudge for added decadence. This recipe can be made for cupcakes too.Another dessert sure to win over his sweet tooth is bourbon pecan pie. This is the classic Southern recipe with the addition of bourbon. Only a splash of it is used to cut the pies' uber sweet taste. Another boozy baking idea are beer cookies.Use a wiessbeer or light colored one to make a variation on English shortbread. The best gift is chocolate or maple dipped bacon. It's a fun combination of super salty married with super sweet along with the flavor of pork. It's easy to do, especially when you use the microwave for both the meat and dip. For the maple bacon, liberally brush maple syrup on both sides of the individual slices and then cook up. If the day is nothing but outdoor eating then finish it with s'mores or better yet bacon s'mores.Add a small square of it on top of the toasted marshmallow for a salty, squishy fun time.
Treat the dad in your life to something homemade and tasty. He'll appreciate the work and the effort along with the love that goes into it. It'll be a memorable Father's Day, for both him and his appetite.

Father's Day Gifts
Father's Day shopping is easy if dad is a foodie. There's everything from cookbooks to grilling tools to gadgets. If he's into any kind of cooking then gift giving is a breeze.Plus there's the hope that he'll use his present to create a tasty dinner or dessert for the family.
Some men swear by cookbooks and there's always a new one coming out. A fun idea is presenting dad with one that features a cuisine he likes but has yet to cook. If he loves Japanese, then get him a book on it .If he loves a good take out pizza then consider getting him a book that concentrates solely on pies. Add some extras such as utensils that help in making the dish or ingredients such as seaweed for sushi or truffle oil for making pizza or pasta sauces. A basket of gourmet ingredients is also an exciting gift. These can be bought as separate items to be put into a basket or as a basket at some gourmet stores or sites.
Grilling is always a big activity for fathers. A new grill is a great way of expressing love and gratitude. The best ones have such extras as burners and even infrared rotisseries for chickens and Cornihs hensThis is perfect for the meat eater who loves outdoor cooking and the taste of anything smoky and grilled. There are smaller grills too that are great to tote on camping or beach trips or even out to the park. Barbecues demand rubs and marinades . Many stores from Williams and Sonoma to your local grocery sell these and again these would be an ideal gift for the grilling dad. A set of brushes or various sized tongs are also neat Father's Day gifts that would go well with abrand new grill.
A foodie dad is one of the easiest people to shop for. Let them enjoy their day with a fun cookbook or even an expensive barbecue grill. There are so many ideas out there. Any one is always the correct one for a father who loves food and preparing it.
