Knives are an integral part of any kitchen, whether home or restaurant. They always need to be sharp in order to slice  and dice, chop and mince. All this work makes them dull . Luckily there is a gadget out there that can restore sharpness/

Any Sharp Knife Sharpener is a neat, compact little gadget that's so small that it fits in the palm of your hand.mIt comes in the variety of colors and has a suction bottom that lets it attach to any surface. That means that home chefs can use two hands when honing their knives. There's also a long lasting polymer guiding top that won;t harm any blade. and is soft. There's also less chance of any accident happening too, with the Any Sharp honing to a perfect angle.Even those who have never sharpened a knife before will have great success with it, The directions are easy to follow , providing the knives are sharpened east to west or right to left.

Does it work? Look at the picture below. I used the family paring and slicing knife which hasn't been sharpened in a while . Look

I also used it on my Farberware knife.Unfortunately, I can't set the video just right but you can see how  it work

One of the best resolution a home chef or home baker can make for the New Year is to be more adventurous. It's time to learn new techniques or try new ingedients. It's a fun learning experience that has some tasty rewards.

One of the best experience for any home chef is signing up for any kind of cooking or baking classes. It pays to learn from experts. Food On The Go

Humans are eaters and snackers. We are also goers, meaning we're always moving somewhere, usually to and from work, usually in traffic.what happens when hunger comes along for the ride? Try sensible snacking.

A commuter's' best friend isn't his or her traffic app. It's their sandwich baggie . This little square can hold everything and anything. It's great for meals on the go and snacking. Many of us wind up eating breakfast on the road. There's not even time to stop for a coffee and doughnut or a breakfast sandwich. Put some granola into a baggie for a quick meal. Another idea is a healthy cereal like Mom's Best Cereal  which comes in a variety of flavors. They're made with whole grains and cane sugar - not refined. It's a good alternative to all those over sugared brands. Of course the best breakfast on the run is any piece of fruit. Bananas are the best They're easy to pack - you don't even need a baggie. -and chock full of vitamins and potassium. One is filling enough and will get you through to possibly or the first coffee break at eleven AM. Apples and pears are also good choices.. because they too are filling. Apples are higher in calories so if you 're watching your weight, stick with the pears. One is only eight six calories. Both can also be used as snacks when on a Saturday morning run to the soccer or baseball field or while running weekend chores.

That sandwich baggie can come in handy for lunch and snacks. Many people like sales reps and technicians have to eat on the road. Again you can go the fast food or deli route however that can get old quick. Then there's all those calories. Hamburgers and heroes are tasty but they're fattening. Salads and soups are great but messy and distracting when eating on the road. Try a healthy sandwich made with whole wheat or multi grained bread. and lean cold cuts. The best bet on the last is getting them from your supermarket's deli counter. Get freshly sliced roast beef or turkey . For an even neater sandwich try a wrap. You can swaddle in some lettuce or tomatoes along with a squirt of ketchup or mayo. Also have some savory snacks on the ready too. These come in handy on the drive home when you're hungry and stuck in traffic. Think Pepperidge Farm goldfish or pretzels. The pluses areboth nibbles are low in calories and not as greasy as potato chips. They're a nice way of staving off hunger and again they're also perfect for those Saturday afternoon runs or  Sunday's road trips. Fruit, too is good here  along with raisins, nuts or seeds like sunflower or pumpkin. They keep you satisfied until you reach home and a hot meal.

Hunger hits at any time - evne drive time. Be ready when you;re on the road and want to nibble or nosh. Have a sandwich bag filled with fruit or crackers, sandwiches or cereal to make it easier

The Effects Of D Day

Today is the seventieth anniversary of D- Day the beginning of the end of World War II.It was the time when brave young men, just barely out of childhood, saved the world, making it a safer and better place.Sadly we still have conflicts and brave young men and women fighting in them. There's so many things we can do for them and their families ,from baking a simple cake to treating them to a dinner and a homecoming party. One of the nicest things you can do for any service person or vet is treating him or her to a home cooked meal. Nothing beats a steak with homemade plank fries or hand made burgers on the grill. Also invite their families too, and make sure there are special treats for their kids.If you have a garden or a few fruit trees ,do not hesitate to bring over the best of the crop. You can also do this at some VA hospitals (if it is allowed.check first before you go).If you know a returning soldier, then treat him or her and their spouses to a romantic candle lit dinner.Throw in a bottle of champagne and then leave. Another way of just saying thank you is baking a batch of cookies or a cake. It may be a small token of gratitude but it will mean a lot to them. Also gift cards to restaurants or even coffee shops is just a minute way of showing your appreciation for them. Another way of showing your gratitude is helping out at VFW picnics or arranging dinners or drives.Older veterans too appreciate whatever you bring ,whether homemade Cole slaw or just your grilling skills. If you have any veterans in your neighborhood, invite them out to dinner or over to your house for a meal. Your and your kids will enjoy their stories along with making friends.Visit nursing homes and independent care centers.A gift of in season fruits and vegetables are always nice and good for their diets as well.Again offer to take them to a favorite restaurant for not just good food but a good heart to heart talk. Sadly enough there will always be conflicts.Thankfully there will always be brave men and women who will fight them.We need to honor them in some way, whether with a dinner or home baked gift. It's a very small token to say thank you.
