:Labor Day Hopes

Labor Days brings American to not only thinking about their jobs but other people's jobs as well. Some of the most grueling jobs are in the food industry, especially the produce industry. This is the time to think of them.

A lot has been made about American produce in these past few months.Keep in mid though that workers have some of the worst conditions. They are regularly denied meal breaks along with they and their families being put up in squalid "housing" Think shacks with no indoor plumbing. Then there's the threat of immigration and ICEready to take them off to detention camps heaven only knows where.

What we can do  - not just for Labor Day but for all year round - is stand by them. They;re doing jobs no American would want to do. Protest.Bolster.Supprt.

Make Labor Day not just a once a year remembrance. Make it all year round.Think of those who pick your fruits and veggies.

A Nod To The Laborers

With it being labor Day we need to honor those who grow, truck cook and serve our foods. ANy kind of food service is hard work, whether it's picking produce, cooking exotic and enchanting dinners or serving those dishes.

We need to fight for the rights of farm helpers and to help farms maintain their land . So many are now financially strapped and they're selling the lands for strip malls and Mc Mansions. We need to support those mom and pop restaurants that give us the best pizza, lo mein and curry.Let's not forget those work the school and college cafeterias who make sure our kids eat well and at some schools twenty-four hours a day

It is Labor Day . Honor those in the industry who labor hard. They deserve our support not just today but everyday.

Extending The Gratitude

Labor Day reminds us to be grateful of all those relted to the food and grocery industry. We need, however to extend that feeling to the rest of the year, epsecially with the upcoming holidays.

Remember to always give extra when tipping waitstaff. The extra money is always appreciated and is most certainly used for food and rent. It's used for toys and clothes for their kids around the holidays. Remember to always include the mom and pop eateries in your rota of places to eat.Again the business will be appreciated.

Also always thank your local grocery store workers too. If's a small market, think about giving them a gift card to a local restaurant to thank them for all their service. This can also apply to your local butcher , green grcoer and fishmonger too. Support your local farms too, Buy from them. If you have a pond or lake on your property don't think twice about sharing the water with  drought stricken farmers, especially in New Jersey.

You should be grateful to all laborers this Labor Day. entend that gratitude to the entire year. It'll will be greatly appreciated.

Honoring All Food Laborers

It takes a lot of labor to put a meal om  the table .There's a whole chain from the farm workers to the cashiers who check out the groceries. Then there are the restaurant worlers and delivery drivers whohave been working hard since the pandemic started.

On this Labor Day thank those who make our eating possible. Write a nice note to your grocery's manager telling him or her about  the cashier who went the extra mile to help. Tip extra generously at your favorite restaurants. Your server will appreciate the extra money.  Help in raising awareness to farmworkers  on social media; Your voice will be heard. Home chefs also need to be appreciated too They're the ones who go out get the food, prep it and then cook. Then there's washing up and other little extras like making snacks or baking treats like cakes cookies and cupcakes.

Labor Day celebrates evey worker but the most important ones feed and nourish us. Remember them today and the rest of the year. They deserve respect and applause.

Honor Our Food Workers ALL Year Long

This is definitely a different Labor Day. There aren't the big parties of last year.  No last hours of summer, enjoyed on the boardwalk, eating fries and frozen custard. No festivals featuring favorite treats like zeppolis and pizza. What is also different is the hardship many of our food related workers have gone through since March. We need to honor them not just for one day but all year round now.

Restaurants are the worst hit of the food industry. They're still trying to make a comeback with outdoor dining. Yet it's not enough. Try to order out from them if you're not comfortable with eating among others. Remember to leave more tip than what you'd usually leave in the tip jar. Write good reviews on Facebook and Yelp. It's a small gesture but it helps in guiding future diners to the eatery. Another way to help is getting gift certificates and/or gift cards from these places too.  Make it a habit of trying one new restaurant a month too. It not only expands your palate but also brings in more dollars to whatever place you choose.

As for those essential grocery workers, sadly we can't give them  tips but we can write to the company and sing their praises. They too, work hard , stocking shelves, getting up at all hours to disinfect the entire place. Visit as often as you can under the circumstances and also thank them when you can too. It shouldn't just be on Labor Day but all year round. What they do is tough, made even tougher by this on going pandemic. This also goes for the farms that are just gearing up for the fall season. They too have been hit hard and are trying to maintain customers and produce. Visit them, for some apple cider doughnuts and pumpkins.

Labor Day should not just be celebrated on this one day. We need to celebrate and honor our food workers all year round. They deserve it with all the hard work they've done year round.

Labor Day Laborers

We celebrate laborers only today yet we should honor them all year round.Keep in mind that disregard, whether they're working at a sunscreen shack , or chain restaurant, are on their feet for eight hours a day .Some are working six day weeks or the overnight shift.Tip them an extra two or three dollars .Remember them also at Christmas time along with your favorite chefs.

Grocery workers such as those deli meat sliders and bakers should also get respect.Compliment them every time you visit. Check out clerks also deserve kindness. One, they're on their feet for six to seven hours with only a fifteen minute break, and two, they're being replaced by self check-outs. Treat them kindly, take the surveysa about them on line ,and write glowing letters about them to their store managers. They will appreciate it,

All workers around the US and the world should be remembered all year round not just today. They work hard everyday.Kee

Laboring To Feed Us

Today being Labor Day it's time to honor those who labor to feed us and our families. They include
the migrant farmers living in awful conditions with barely a roof over their heads and primitive bath and eating facilities. They work long hours tending and picking crops that eventually go into our meals. Then there are the supermarket clerks who check out our groceries. Some work five or six hours without getting a break, or only receiving a fifteen minute breather. Thank them every time you’re at their check out. Also honor them .Don’t go to the self checkouts . The more shoppers who do this eliminate the need for these workers. That means their jobs will eliminated and they will lose everything from a paycheck to their pensions.

Labor Day may mean a day off to you, but to waitstaff all over the US  it means a day of work. Granted they get time and a half and tips, but they’d rather spend this summer day with friends and family. They’d rather chill at a barbecue or beach instead of taking your order and serving them. Give them a bigger than usual tip. Keep in mind that busboys, chefs, cooks and fast food employees don’t receive tips. Treat them kindly, and tell them how much you appreciate their hours of work.

This day celebrates America’s work force. Honor those who are responsible for feeding and nourishing you.

The Fruits Of Their Labors

Today is Labor Day , a day where we honor all workers. Keep in mind this also includes the farmers that spend long days picking produce and tending orchards. It also includes the clerks at your local supermarket  as well as the cooks and servers at your favorite restaurants.

Treat these people with kindness and  respect   not on this day but every day. They have the difficult jobs, full of endless hours of hard labor and abuse. Most are under the threat of deportation, forced to give up everything they've ever worked for to go back to the poverty and crime of their birth countries. Fight for them and their children, if you can.

This is a day when all workers are honored .Yet have special honors for the people who work to feed your family and yourself.

Labor Day All Year Round

Happy labor Day to all my American readers home and abroad. It is a day of relaxation from work and in some areas the first week of school. Just remember that the people who grow and pick your food labor hard all year long. Many don't have the benefits or perks you have. Some are living below the poverty line.

Remember too that your servers and restaurant chefs and cooks work doubly as hard , almost never taking breaks or vacations. They work ten  - eleven  hour days creating all sorts of dishes, serving all sorts of dishes . Give them generous tips and reviews.. They rely on them for a living.

It may be your Labor Day just for the day but it's food worker's every day  of the year

A Labor Free Labor Day

Enjoy this day  free from work but also remember the people who make it possible for you to eat. Think of the farmers and their workers, those who have to toil in the hot sun so you can have fresh salad or juice.Keep  in keen consideration every worker at your grocery store. It is boring and tedious to stock shelves and taking inventories. Think of those who stand on the on their feet all day  baking those yummy cakes or slicing those drool worthy cold cuts that you love so much.

Remember those who serve you at restaurants, diners  and fast food joints. They have the hardest jobs, taking your orders , cooking dozens of  dishes and broiling tons of hamburgers. They do the work of ten people and get paid very little for it . Not only tip them generously but generously praise them as well. They more than deserve it.

Enjoy this day , relaxing on the beach or at the barbecue, but also remember those who in the food industry that make your life easier.

The Foods Of Labor

Today being Labor Day, it's time to devote some of our thoughts to those who put food in our stores and on our restaurant tables. So many workers put in long hours and get nothing, including no benefits out of It. Their toil saves us a variety of chores involved in providing and even cooking foods. The next time you eat your veggies or even fruits, think of the pickers who provided you with them. Most are migrant workers whose quality of life is still the same as when John Steinbeck depicted them in the 1930"s classic The Grapes of Wrath." For as long as you can try buying from your local farmer's market or family farms. These should treat their workers a bit more decently than the big brands?Another group that's constantly abused are the restaurant workers from servers to cooks. All have to work long hours ,standing in front of hot stoves and hot pots.Waitstaff has to deal with everything from whiny, food throwing tots to rude, unappreciative customers.Make it up to them by being nice, and complimentary.Give them a little more when tipping.Make their work day as pleasant as pleasant as you would for your fellow coworker. Labor Day is a time when America honors its workers. The ones who work the hardest are mostly in the food trade.Honor them and the backbreaking work that they do.They are the ones that feed you.

Laboring For Food

With this being the Labor Day weekend , it's time to thanks all those who cook our food, tend our food and clean up after we've eaten our food. Not enough gratitude is given for anyone in the industry. Sadly enough we do take them for granted  - which should not be the case.

It all starts with our grocery stores, whether they be a small family owned one or a large chain. It's no joke to stock shelves or stay on your feet for eight hours a day. Those are the easiest tasks. There's also the ones who run the meat and deli department along with baking those yummy breads and cakes . The meat, fish and deli sections sometimes can be dangerous thanks to those wickedly sharp knives and slicers that are used almost every minute. Then there's those clean ups on Aisles five.(or whatever aisle).>It's an entire procedure to clean up everything from spilled milk to an exploded soda bottle. There's the threat of broken glass and a slippery as ice floor that has to be dealt with  when these accident happen.

Also give gratitude to all those restaurants and diner workers. They make sure that whatever meal you eat is not only tasty but cooked in clean conditions. Many privately owned eateries start way before dawn to peel potatoes and slice veggies and fruit. They have to haggle with all sorts of salesmen as well as come up with tasty recipes for their customers. The wait staff has it no better along with the busboys. The first has to deal with every kind from surly and grumpy eaters to whiny kids. Busboys have to clean up the messes we leave and some aren't pretty. Imagine handling chewed bones and lobster shells day after day for very little.

This Labor Day while you're enjoying your meals or shopping for food,l stop and actually thank those involved with your eating. They'd appreciate the thanks . Even more they'd appreciate the feeling that goes with it.
