Every new homeowner gets excited when Spring comes around. It's not so much as enjoying the joy of a back yard bursting with greenery but a place to put an outdoor grill or kitchen. The question is what is the best suited for a home chef's needs? It is nice to have a full outdoor oven and fridge however it's sufficient to just buy a multipurpose grill as well.
The first question that should be asked is how much cooking will be done? If you do entertain a lot then an outdoor kitchen is a great idea. If it's a barbecue once a month along with an occasional outdoor dinner then maybe a grill or hibachi is a good choice. As with everything, there are high end and low end grills. More money means more extras. The higher end is the gas grills. These are great for the environment because it's clean cooking or cooking that doesn;t produce any emissions. They have great temperature controls, which means more evenly and better cooked foods. Some are even equipped with infrared heating. electric grills are great if you have a small patio area. It requires ceramic briquettes to heat up. Of course there are the traditional charcoal ones.,These cook food with an intense smoky flavor , great for ribs and steaks. You can also alternate briquettes with wood chips for a more flavorful foods. Higher end grills have air vents and dampers to control cooking temperatures and igniters . Having these eliminate the need for lighter fluid too. The good thing about buying any kind of grill is the price. You can get a cheap one for under fifty dollars or splurge on a $1,000 one.
On the other side of the spectrum is the outdoor kitchen. This is for true cooking affectionados and frequent party givers. It also helps to have a relatively big back yard too. An outdoor cooking area will take up as much room as an indoor one. There also is the extra costs of installing another gas and waterline to support it. However if you really want one it is doable. A low end one can cost about a grand , while the most expensive can reach up to $15,000, An average cost is about $1,000 to $5,000 If you are handy you can definitely install an outdoor cooking area. Modular units can be built by the amateur remodeler...Outdoor kitchens are great.. They can be styled like an outdoor Tuscan kitchen with marble and over head trellis or a trendy Malibu hangout, complete with a plush dining area and pool area.An outdoor kitchen has a full working sink and mini fridge. An every handy island can also be installed, along with a pizza oven. This can also contain a propane grill and ice bin, eliminating the need for an oven and fridge.Keep in mind that an outdoor kitchen does have to be covered come winter. The covers are usually canvas and they do have to be customized.
Spring is coming and with it comes the urge for outdoor cooking. You can go for a traditional charcoal grill or a lush outdoor kitchen.Whatver the choice it comes down to fun outdoor cooking and the delicious foods that come from that.

The Grill Of Your Dreams
We"re on the verge of barbecue season. This is the time of year when stores sell a variety of grills.Don't be overwhelmed by the variety of different types.Choose one that fits your grilling needs and warnsBuying the right one is the key to a successful grilling season.
Grills are like any other appliance. The fancier they are, the more stuff comes with them. There's also the question of what kind of fuel you want to use.if you want a no problem , easy grill then think electric. The problem is that you won't get smoky flavor when you cook on it.Sadly there's not a big variety to choose from. This may not be the one for you if you're an avid barbecuer. Many electric grills also don't have a lot of voltage so they're only good for grilling burgers and dogs .Most people love gas grills. These come in a gamut of types with a wide range of pricing too.A simple gas grill will cost only $200. These are good for cooking the simple stuff like steaks and kabobs, but nothing more elaborate. Also they will not last as long as their more expensive counterparts. The luxury models even have rotisseries and side burners. These are perfect for more advanced cooks or ones that like to do most of their summer cooking out of doors. The top of the line grills will be made from stainless steel and can cost upwards from a grand and beyond.
If you are a traditionalist, then consider a new charcoal grill. These , too, range in pricing from what's known as a simple kettle to smokers.Everyone swears by the Weber model. It has multiple air vents along with room for indirect and direct smoking.A better one is the Kamado cooker which is excellent for smoking meats. It also will last a long time? There's also the Hasty Bake which can bake meats such as chicken and Cornish hens.People concerned about their health and the environment will probably choose the wood pellet kind(cooking over charcoal can cause the meat to become carcinogenic).A better choice is the wood pellet grill. These are grills that are fueled by a hardwood pill like piece of wood. They burn quickly and cleanly into a fine ash. These come in different "flavors" such as hickory, oak, cherry, apple or mesquite. They're fed from a storage hopper into a burning box at a controlled rate.Heating time is literally within minutes. The pricing is high ,even for the least expensive,$400 to 2 grand for the best one. Also the pellets can be pricey as well however pellet grill owners usually buy their fuel in bulk.
As with any appliance, determine what is the best grill for you by your cooking needs and tastes. It should be a perfect match, resulting in your best barbecue season. Pick the right one, the one that suits your outdoor cooking needs.

Hurricane Cuisine
Thanks to Hurricane Sandy, most of the East Coast will experience hurricane cuisine tinned food and bottled water mixed with whatever is in the freezer. Anyone can get creative with whatever is in their kitchen, providing they have gas and/or electricity. It's also a time to take out the grill again if need be.
Usually a freezer can keep its 'temps until the second day without power. Don't keep opening it otherwise you'll lose the food inside. Instead concentration what's in the refrigerator part. If you're lucky you 'll have eggs. Paired with almost anything, from meats to cheese to veggies, you can create a nice omelet that the family can enjoy. Cheeses can be melted and made into a Welsh rarebit or fondue.Again bread can be dipped into this as well as boiled potatoes. You can also use the extra veggies along with tinned tuna or any meat as a hearty salad.
What happens when the freezer goes? Again try to be creative.TV dinners may be hard to cook because they may require the microwave. You can cook some in your oven if you do have a gas stove. For some of the other frozen foods, you;re going to have to get creative and possibly drag out the grill. Frozen burgers can be thawed and cooked , if you have a gas grill. If you have an electric try to use a neighbor's hibachi of there is one. Freezers also keep all that extra sauce you made with your tomato harvest. Thaw it out and make either soup or sauce.Ice cream melted down can be mixed with milk for a malted.
Hurricane cuisine can be much like the phenomena itself, wild daring , outrageous. Yet out of that can come substantial and, yes, even nutritious food, Don't fear it. work with it.
