Today is All SOul's Day , a day when food traditions honors loved ones who have passed. In Britian and Ireland it's Soul Cakes, (popularized in a Sting song) In Italy it's eating ossi de morte or bones of the dead. crunchy almond cookies bake din bone shapes.
What is your All Souls' tradition. For my family it's roasting chestnuts. Crosses are cut on the top of them and the steam rising form them represent souls going to heaven. There is also the chance to enjoy the chestnuts" sweet meat seed too,
